Towngas Wins Hong Kong ESG Grand Award for Green Methanol, Hydrogen, and SAF Push

Hong Kong and China Gas Company (Towngas) has received the Hong Kong ESG Grand Award from the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong at the 2026 Hong Kong ESG Awards. The utility was recognized for its sustainability work, including its push into green methanol, hydrogen, and sustainable aviation fuel for shipping, land transport, and aviation. Towngas says it will keep expanding its green energy business and align with China's dual carbon goals and the 15th Five-Year Plan. The company also runs a hydrogen design competition for primary school students, works with a green group on a plantation enrichment program, and says it is building a greener supply chain with suppliers. The award is more of a recognition milestone than a project update. It does not include specific capacity, emission reduction, or investment figures for the green fuels Towngas is developing.
