TotalEnergies ENEOS completed Phase 2 of a rooftop solar project at PT. Perusahaan Industri Ceres' chocolate factory in Bandung, Indonesia. The expansion adds 1.4 MWp of solar capacity with around 2,400 panels, bringing the total on-site system to 3.6 MWp. The combined installation generates 4,630 MWh of clean electricity annually, covering about 12% of Ceres' power needs and cutting an estimated 4,200 tons of carbon emissions per year. The project was delivered under a 15 year agreement where TotalEnergies ENEOS handles development, financing, construction, and operation. Ceres pays only for the electricity produced with no upfront costs. This structure helps manufacturers reduce reliance on grid electricity and lower operating emissions without capital outlay. The partnership shows how distributed solar can scale in Southeast Asia's industrial sector.

Article doesnt mention storage. Likely just grid backup. 4,200 tons per year is their claimed reduction. Would be curious if that accounts for grid emission factor assumptions. Indonesia still coal heavy so the offset math might be optimistic.

TotalEnergies ENEOS is a 50/50 JV targeting 2 GW of distributed solar across Asia. This is one data point. Bandung has decent irradiance. The real test is whether they can replicate this at other factories without long delays or interconnection issues.
