TotalEnergies cuts carbon emissions with 100% fleet renewal in Kenya, saving 3.7 kilotonnes CO2 annually

TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya has deployed 161 new heavy commercial vehicles across Kenya, replacing its entire transport fleet. The new trucks cut fuel consumption from 5.8 to 3.5 liters per kilometer, reducing carbon emissions by 3.7 kilotonnes of CO2 each year. The fleet includes speed limiters, AI-powered driver monitoring, and safety features like underride barriers. The fleet renewal supports Kenya's climate goals and green finance targets. TotalEnergies says the project shows that corporate sustainability can work alongside commercial performance and regulatory compliance. The company integrated advanced safety systems, including dual interior cameras and fatigue detection, to improve road safety on Kenyan transit corridors.
