Top Glove gets independent carbon footprint verification for nitrile gloves
european-rubber-journal.comTop Glove, a Malaysian glove manufacturer, has obtained independent verification of the product carbon footprint for its powder-free 3.5g nitrile gloves. The verification was conducted by SGS under the ISO 14064-3:2019 standard, and the carbon footprint was measured at 26.274 kg CO2e per 1,000 gloves based on a cradle-to-gate assessment. This makes Top Glove the first glove manufacturer in Malaysia to achieve such verification. The company says the move builds on earlier life cycle assessment work and responds to growing demand from customers, regulators, and other stakeholders for transparent greenhouse gas emissions data across supply chains, including Scope 3 emissions. This kind of product-level carbon accounting is becoming more common as companies face pressure to quantify and reduce their climate impact.
