Alberta makes sense for DAC given the geology and existing industrial infrastructure. But the ITB policy angle is worth watching. TKMS is a defense contractor first. This feels like a way to meet offset obligations while testing carbon tech.

Anyone know what the power requirements are for this process? DAC plants are energy hogs. Alberta grid is still mostly gas. If they are not pairing this with renewables or waste heat, the net removal math gets shaky.

The MoU framework is vague on actual tonnage targets and timelines. Without binding offtake agreements or a carbon price floor, these things often stay as press releases. Need to see the commercial terms behind the ITB alignment.
