Thistle Wind Partners has submitted an offshore consent application to the Scottish Government for the Bowdun Offshore Wind Farm. Located off the Aberdeenshire coast, the proposed fixed-bottom project aims for a capacity of up to 1 GW, which could power over 1.2 million homes. The project is now moving through the determination phase for both its offshore and onshore components. The onshore application was previously filed with the Aberdeenshire Council in late 2025. If approved, the development is expected to create 700 construction jobs and 60 permanent operational roles in Scotland.
