Therm Solutions has achieved the first carbon credit issuance in Mexico for removing hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants from commercial cold-storage systems. Using the American Carbon Registry methodology, the project covers facilities in Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Villagrán, reducing over 82,000 metric tons of CO2e. This initiative targets super pollutants in the food supply chain, replacing conventional refrigeration with low-emission alternatives. By leveraging the voluntary carbon market, Therm aims to accelerate the phase-down of HFCs in regions where regulatory incentives are currently limited.
