Thailand CF-Hotels platform wins Asia award for hotel carbon measurement and green finance access
travelandtourworld.comThailand's Tourism Authority won a Green Leadership award at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2026 for its CF-Hotels platform. The system helps hotels measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with over 900 registered accounts and verified reductions of 16,838 tonnes of CO2 equivalent since 2024. The platform also connects hotels to green finance through the Bank of Thailand and nine commercial banks under the Financing the Transition initiative, plus the ThaiCI Fund which has mobilized over 29 million Baht for hotel upgrades like solar panels and efficient appliances. For travelers and the tourism industry, this means Thailand's hotel sector is moving beyond green marketing toward measurable carbon management. Small and medium sized hotels get free access to tools for tracking energy, water, waste, and emissions. The program also helps hotels align with international standards like ISO 14064-1 and GSTC frameworks. This gives Thailand a stronger position in the growing low-carbon travel market, where proof of environmental performance matters more than slogans.
