Carbon capture in cement is a massive energy draw. I wonder what the power requirements are for these pilots and if the local grid in Saraburi can handle the added load without new substations.
Beyond the energy load, I want to see the actual cost per ton of CO2 captured here. Cement plants are brutal on equipment, so maintenance costs usually kill these projects before they scale.
The MoU mentions policy development based on the sandbox results. The real question is whether Thailand will implement a carbon tax or credit system to make these expensive capture projects financially viable.
