Thai Sriracha maker Exotic Food earns ISO 14068-1 carbon management certification, targets net zero by 2050
asianews.networkExotic Food, the Thai company behind Flying Goose Sriracha, has become the first food business in Thailand certified to ISO 14068-1:2023. The standard focuses on measuring and cutting greenhouse gas emissions before using offsets, which only apply to residual emissions. The company says the certification supports its targets of carbon neutrality by 2040 and net zero emissions by 2050. The company has recalculated its emissions baseline, upgraded data management, and started installing solar power at its Amata City Rayong facility, with more planned in Phitsanulok. It is also improving energy efficiency and shifting freight from diesel trucks to electric vehicles. The move is partly driven by customer expectations in Europe, one of its main export markets.
