Tesson Holdings buys solar-storage-charging assets, gains CATL co-founder as strategic backer
manilatimes.netTesson Holdings (1201.HK) is buying Contemporary Huazhi New Energy Technology Hong Kong for RMB 120 million, paid partly in cash and partly in new shares. The target operates solar-storage-charging-inspection and zero-carbon park projects in Shanghai and Fuzhou, so the deal gives Tesson a foothold in operating new energy infrastructure rather than just manufacturing equipment. The announcement also brings in Huang Shilin, co-founder of CATL, as a strategic shareholder. Tesson signed MOUs with Inspur Group, EV Power, and several universities to work on AI data center power supply, virtual power plants, and Hong Kong demonstration projects for green logistics and charging. The stated goal is to build a chain from battery manufacturing to zero-carbon microgrids and AI-based energy trading. What remains unclear is the scale of the existing projects, their utilization rates, and how the MOUs convert into revenue. The deal structure and the CATL connection are meaningful, but the next step is hard data on megawatts, charging capacity, and actual energy-carbon asset performance.
