Tesla has completed the first vehicle from its high production line for the Tesla Semi, aiming for a capacity of 50,000 units per year. This move marks a transition from long term piloting with companies like PepsiCo and DHL to scalable manufacturing for the trucking industry. To support the rollout, Tesla is expanding its Megacharger network, specifically targeting major corridors like I-5 and I-10 in California. The shift toward electric heavy duty trucks aims to reduce both CO2 emissions and toxic diesel particulates that affect air quality and driver health.
