Tesla engineering leadership has indicated that a tri-motor version of the Model 3 remains a possibility. This potential variant would utilize carbon-wrapped rotor technology from the Model S Plaid to increase RPM and sustain high power output without overheating. While the project is technically feasible, Tesla is currently prioritizing the Cybercab, a new affordable vehicle model, and the scaling of the Optimus robot. A Model 3 Plaid would likely exceed 1,000 horsepower, though it remains an internal engineering interest rather than an active production program.
