Tesco Ireland has introduced a new beef range claiming a carbon footprint up to 23 percent lower than standard products. The initiative involves a partnership between the retailer, meat processor Kepak, and the Twenty20 Beef Club to implement sustainable farming methods. To avoid greenwashing and provide transparency, the claims have been independently verified by the Carbon Trust. This move reflects a broader effort to align retail supply chains with net zero goals by 2050 through verified carbon accounting in agriculture.
