Tesco and Kepak have introduced a new beef line with a carbon footprint up to 23 percent lower than standard products. The reduction is achieved through improved cattle genetics, better nutrition, and optimized grassland management, allowing animals to reach slaughter weight faster. While the Carbon Trust verified these findings, experts note that efficiency gains per animal do not replace the need for overall herd reduction to meet national emissions targets. The range is positioned as a mid-tier option, priced between standard and organic beef.
