Terrepower is pushing the remanufacturing angle here. They claim 204k metric tons of avoided emissions. It is a good start, but I would like to see the actual baseline they are using to calculate those avoided emissions.

The second-life battery systems in Barcelona are the most interesting part. If they can actually hit that 80 percent emission reduction, it helps the storage economics. I wonder what the degradation rate is on these remanufactured cells compared to new ones.

Remanufacturing is usually a labor cost game. It is great to see the waste diversion numbers, but the real test is whether the cost of recovering these cores stays lower than the cost of raw material extraction as the grid cleans up.
