Temasek 2026 Sustainability Report: Net Zero by 2050, 62% Portfolio Carbon Cut
sustainabilitymag.comTemasek published its 2026 Sustainability Report, detailing progress toward net zero by 2050. The Singaporean state-owned investment firm reported a 62% reduction in portfolio carbon intensity from 2010 levels during fiscal year 2025. The company manages a net portfolio of SGD 518 billion (USD 401 billion) and is targeting investments in clean energy, clean transportation, energy efficiency, and green buildings to drive decarbonization. The report highlights operational changes such as setting office thermostats to 25 degrees Celsius, purchasing Sustainable Aviation Fuel certificates for 1% of business travel emissions, and procuring renewable electricity directly for offices in India and the UK. Temasek's CEO Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara noted that energy storage and renewables are becoming cost-effective solutions, though the transition path has become more complex due to geopolitics and energy security concerns. Chief Sustainability Officer Kyung-Ah Park emphasized a pragmatic approach: maintaining the 2050 net zero ambition while engaging portfolio companies and partners to accelerate real-world decarbonization. The strategy focuses on building a resilient portfolio that can withstand market shocks while advancing environmental and social objectives through targeted capital deployment.
