Construction is accelerating on two major carbon capture and storage projects in Teesside. NZT Power aims to be the first large scale gas fired power station with integrated carbon capture, while the Northern Endurance Partnership builds the transport and storage network for the East Coast Cluster. These developments have already awarded over 1.5 billion pounds in subcontracts to UK firms. The projects focus on decarbonizing heavy industry in the Teesside and Humber regions by creating a scalable infrastructure for CO2 removal.
