TD Bank has entered a 10 year agreement with Climeworks to procure a portfolio of high-durability carbon removal credits. The deal includes a mix of North American projects focusing on biochar, enhanced rock weathering, and bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS). Climeworks will also provide TD Bank with direct air capture (DAC) credits from future facilities in North America. The company is currently conducting cold-weather testing to prepare for the deployment of commercial scale DAC plants in the region.
