A new emissions report from aviation tracking service JetSpy estimates Taylor Swift's private jet produced roughly 639 tons of carbon pollution over three months, potentially exceeding the 557 tons attributed to the entire 2024 Eras Tour. The Dassault Falcon 7X flew 81 times and burned about 60,560 gallons of fuel. Critics argue private aviation is one of the dirtiest travel modes, and that offsets alone are insufficient. Chuck Collins from the Institute for Policy Studies called private jets 'the least defensible, most irresponsible form of transportation' and urged Swift to park the jet. A researcher from the International Council on Clean Transportation noted most private-jet routes could be served by direct commercial flights, cutting pollution by roughly 70%. Swift's representatives have previously said the aircraft is regularly loaned to others.
