Target is partnering with circular materials startup Syre to integrate textile-to-textile recycled polyester into its apparel and home product lines. The agreement aims to utilize 70,000 metric tons of recycled polyester from end-of-life textiles by 2030. Syre, backed by H&M Group and Vargas, plans to build its first large-scale recycling facility in Southeast Asia starting in 2027. This initiative targets the decarbonization of the textile industry, specifically focusing on polyester, which contributes significantly to the sector's total emissions.
