Target and Syre Partner to Scale Recycled Polyester by 2030
textiletoday.com.bdTarget is expanding its partnership with Syre to integrate textile-to-textile recycled polyester into its owned brand products. The goal is to utilize up to 70,000 metric tons of recycled polyester by 2030, moving away from virgin plastic sources. Syre uses a chemical recycling process that claims to reduce carbon emissions by up to 85% compared to standard polyester production. The company is currently building recycling plants in North Carolina and Vietnam to support this industrial scale-up.
