The Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower Project (T5) in Pakistan is moving toward registration with the Global Carbon Council. The project aims to reduce approximately 565,905 tons of CO2 emissions annually, totaling over 5.6 million tons over a ten year period. Supported by the World Bank, the project has begun the verification process with LGAI Technologies. This initiative marks a significant step for Pakistan in utilizing international carbon markets to finance and validate large scale renewable energy infrastructure.
