Tanzania has restored 3.3 million hectares of degraded forest and land as of December 2024, according to an assessment by the National Carbon Monitoring Centre. The country pledged in 2018 to restore 5.2 million hectares by 2030 under the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative (AFR100).
