Tanzania has established a Special Carbon Trade Coordination Centre to address transparency gaps in carbon market payments. The initiative aims to ensure that local communities receive fair compensation based on the actual amount of carbon generated in their regions. The government has already set up a centre in Morogoro, with plans to expand to Dodoma. These centres will track project outputs and oversee the distribution of revenues to prevent payment discrepancies and improve accountability in environmental projects.
