The plan includes planting two billion trees annually, restoring five million hectares of degraded forest, and expanding clean cooking energy to 80 percent usage by 2034. A key focus is positioning carbon trading among Tanzania's top three revenue sources. The program, costing about 7 trillion Tanzanian shillings, will be funded by government, private sector, and development partners. It also mandates tree planting with new building permits and creation of urban green spaces by municipalities.

Carbon trading as a top revenue source depends entirely on having credible accounting and verification. Tanzania needs robust MRV systems or international buyers won't touch their credits. Hope that's part of the plan.
