Tanzania directs NCMC to run public education on new carbon trading registration system
dailynews.co.tzTanzania's Vice-President's Office has ordered the National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC) to educate citizens on the new carbon trading registration system. The directive, issued by Permanent Secretary Dr Richard Muyungi, aims to ensure the public understands the opportunities, procedures, and rules for participating in carbon trading under the country's climate goals. NCMC is also tasked with improving digital tools to make carbon market information more accessible. The move supports Tanzania's Vision 2050 environmental pillar and reflects the government's push to strengthen carbon market governance. Additional resources, including staff and equipment, are pledged to help the centre deliver on this mandate.
