Taiwan's Foreign Ministry, in partnership with the Industrial Technology Research Institute, held a three day Co-Carbon Compass Workshop on carbon credit collaboration and capacity building. Representatives from 11 diplomatic allies attended sessions on UN climate frameworks, the Paris Agreement, and international carbon markets. Participants also visited Taiwan's Environment Ministry and ICDF to see how carbon credit projects are developed and traded. The workshop signals a push to build practical skills for participating in global emissions reduction schemes. By focusing on bilateral and multilateral carbon credit cooperation, Taiwan aims to strengthen its allies' ability to engage with carbon markets and climate finance. This type of capacity building is key for smaller nations looking to monetize emission reductions and meet net zero targets.
