Taiwan is implementing the Climate Change Response Act of 2023 to reach net zero emissions by 2050. A central part of this strategy is the introduction of carbon fees to put a price on greenhouse gas emissions and incentivize industrial decarbonization. Beyond carbon pricing, the government is focusing on circular economy initiatives and integrating ESG principles into trade agreements, such as the Taiwan-US Initiative on 21st Century Trade, to maintain global competitiveness.
