Taiwan and Canada Strengthen Energy Cooperation on Geothermal and Hydrogen Technologies
fuelcellsworks.comTaiwan's Energy Administration led a delegation to Canada in June 2026 for the Taiwan-Canada Energy Working Group meeting, focusing on next-generation geothermal and hydrogen technologies. The delegation, including geothermal and hydrogen taskforce members, met with Canadian officials and industry players to share development status and strengthen bilateral supply chains. Key sessions included the Alberta-Taiwan Hydrogen and Geothermal Roundtable and discussions with the Alberta Energy Regulator on regulatory frameworks. This collaboration aims to accelerate Taiwan's low-carbon energy transition and diversify its green energy sources. By leveraging Canada's expertise in geothermal development and clean hydrogen, Taiwan seeks to build a stable environment for clean energy promotion and move toward its 2050 net-zero goal. The working group will continue policy exchanges to support local implementation of clean energy technologies.
