US engineering firm Syngular Solutions and French provider Vallourec have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop carbon capture and geological sequestration projects in Brazil. The partnership focuses on using advanced tubular technology to implement BECCS and CCUS solutions within the Brazilian ethanol industry. Brazil is a primary target for these projects due to its position as one of the world's largest ethanol producers and its favorable geological formations for permanent CO2 storage. These initiatives support Brazil's national goals to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
