Sweep and HowGood Partner to Simplify Product Carbon Footprint for Food and Ag Companies

Sweep, an enterprise sustainability data platform, has partnered with HowGood, a product carbon footprint automation firm, to help food and agriculture companies track and report emissions at the product level. The integration brings HowGood's database of over 12 million product carbon footprints into Sweep's platform, enabling more precise Scope 3 carbon accounting and regulatory reporting under rules like the EU's CSRD and California's SB 253. The partnership addresses the complexity of food supply chains, where products often contain dozens of ingredients from multiple suppliers and countries. Companies can use standard food-specific emissions factors, custom calculations based on their own sourcing data, or primary data from direct supplier inputs. This replaces generic industry averages with auditable, actionable numbers that reflect actual sourcing and manufacturing practices, helping companies move from reporting to reduction.
