Wind turbine maker Suzlon and Finland's Exel Composites signed a multiyear agreement valued at over EUR 100 million for pultruded carbon fiber planks used in blade spar caps. Deliveries run through March 2029 and will be produced at Kineco Exel Composites India, the joint venture Exel operates in India. The deal extends a collaboration that started in 2024 and includes an earlier EUR 10 million purchase order announced in February 2025. Spar caps are the main structural reinforcement in wind turbine blades, and carbon fiber planks give blades the stiffness needed for longer rotors and higher energy capture. Local production in India matters because it shortens the supply chain for Suzlon's blade programs and supports the ramp-up of Exel's Indian factory. The final value of deliveries still depends on Suzlon's actual production orders, but the multiyear framework gives both companies more certainty for planning.
