Sustainable Concrete Research: Reducing Cement Emissions and Enhancing Carbon Capture

Research led by Professor Marina Garcia Lopez-Arias focuses on lowering the environmental impact of cement, which accounts for 8 percent of global carbon emissions. The work explores three primary methods: temperature-responsive concrete, the use of nanoparticles to improve carbon capture, and surface treatments that break down air pollutants.
