Surrey public libraries have expanded their Tech to Go collection to include CO2 monitors and energy meters. These tools allow residents to track indoor air quality and monitor household energy use for free.

Energy meters are the real win here. Most people have no idea where their phantom loads are coming from until they actually plug one in and see the wattage. Simple tools like this are the first step toward actual building efficiency.
It is a good low barrier entry for public education. The gap is usually moving people from monitoring to actually upgrading their HVAC or insulation. A monitor tells you the air is bad, but it does not provide the subsidy to fix the leak.
Cool to see libraries acting as tool libraries for climate tech. Even if it is just a few monitors, it gets people thinking about carbon dioxide levels and ventilation in their own spaces.
