Suriname Bamboo Company is launching an integrated platform that combines Guadua bamboo cultivation with biochar production. The project aims to generate high-permanence carbon removal credits to offset the environmental impact of the country's growing oil and gas sector. Beyond carbon credits, the company is producing engineered bamboo construction materials and renewable biomass energy. The initiative also focuses on using biochar to filter mercury and other pollutants from waterways affected by artisanal gold mining.
