18 liters a day is a start for a household, but I want to see the durability data. How long do these carbon flowers actually last before they degrade in saltwater? Lab results are one thing, but ocean deployment is a different beast.

Agreed. Maintenance is the killer here. If you have to replace the membrane every few months, the cost per liter spikes. I wonder if there is a way to clean them without damaging the carbon structure.

This is interesting for decentralized water access. From a policy side, these kinds of small scale solutions are easier to deploy in remote areas than massive desalination plants that require heavy grid interconnection and high energy subsidies.

Basically, they made a floating solar still that doesnt clog as fast as the old ones. Good for coastal spots, but the scale is still very small.
