Summit Carbon Solutions is refining its Iowa project footprint by removing approximately 200 miles of pipeline and reducing the number of impacted landowners by over 400. The company aims to simplify the regulatory process and accelerate the delivery of carbon sequestration infrastructure for ethanol producers. Despite the reductions, the project still plans to connect 27 ethanol facilities in Iowa, transporting captured CO2 through Nebraska for sequestration in Wyoming. This move is intended to help ethanol plants lower their carbon intensity scores and remain competitive in markets like sustainable aviation fuel.
