Summit Carbon Solutions is scaling back its proposed carbon capture pipeline in Iowa, removing eight counties from the route to bypass regulatory hurdles in South Dakota. The company plans to reroute the captured CO2 through Nebraska for underground storage in Wyoming. This strategic shift aims to accelerate construction by avoiding South Dakota's strict limits on eminent domain. While the new plan removes over 400 landowners from the project footprint, it still intends to connect 27 Iowa ethanol plants to a core carbon transport system.
