Strategic Biofuels picks Valmet for Louisiana biomass power with carbon capture and planned SAF phase
resourcewise.comStrategic Biofuels selected Valmet for the Louisiana Green Fuels project in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. Valmet will supply a circulating fluidized bed boiler and flue gas cleaning systems for a biomass power facility designed to run on forestry residuals and capture CO2 for permanent underground storage. A sustainable aviation fuel biorefinery is planned as a later phase, but it remains a future development stage. The project is still early. The power phase now has a technology partner, but delivery depends on biomass sourcing, capture performance, and storage execution. Strategic Biofuels also published a feedstock guide covering RFS documentation and traceability, which matters because physical availability alone does not make forestry material eligible for renewable fuel credits. For carbon market watchers, this is a project to track for execution details rather than a done deal.
