Stonewater Develops Low-Carbon Housing on Former Ilkley Railway Site
sustainableconstruction-now.comHousing association Stonewater is converting a former railway site in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, into a development of 35 energy-efficient homes. The project includes a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership properties designed to reduce carbon emissions and lower utility costs for residents. To meet the West Yorkshire 2038 net-zero target, the homes will feature air source heat pumps and solar panels. Additionally, every parking space will be equipped with electric vehicle charging infrastructure to support local decarbonization.
