Stonbury water firm targets acquisitions after LDC reinvestment, revenue hits £78m
thebusinessdesk.comStonbury, a water and environmental sustainability specialist, is planning an acquisition push after private equity firm LDC reinvested in the business. Federated Hermes also came in as a minority co-investor. LDC, part of Lloyds Banking Group, first backed Stonbury in December 2022. Since then revenue has grown 74% to £78m and headcount has risen from 281 to 443 across 10 locations. The company provides low-carbon maintenance, repair, and refurbishment services for critical water infrastructure. The fresh investment gives it capital to buy other firms in the water and low-carbon services space. Browne Jacobson advised LDC on the deal. The move comes as UK water companies face pressure to reduce emissions and improve infrastructure efficiency.
