Stenon Raises 18 Million Euros Series B for Real-Time Soil Carbon and Nitrogen Management
igrownews.comStenon, a German agtech company, has raised 18 million euros in Series B funding led by Pymwymic to scale its real-time soil analysis platform. The company's FarmLab system measures plant-available nitrogen and soil organic carbon directly in the field, helping farmers cut nitrogen fertilizer use by 20 to 40 percent while boosting yields 2 to 8 percent across crops like corn, cotton, sugarcane, and coffee. The funding will support expansion in Brazil, Central Asia, and Europe, and fund development of a machine-integrated nutrient sensor expected later in 2026. Nitrogen fertilizer prices in the EU were 71 percent above the 2024 average as of April 2026, according to the European Commission, putting pressure on farmers to improve efficiency. Stenon's approach combines real-time soil sensing with agronomic models to replace lab testing, giving farmers immediate data on plant-available nitrogen and soil organic carbon. The company says its platform has already been deployed across several million customer acres, with reported nitrogen savings of 20 to 40 percent and yield gains of 2 to 8 percent across multiple crops.
