Statera Energy Completes First Firing at Thurrock Power Plant
petroleumaustralia.com.auStatera Energy has reached a key milestone at the Thurrock Power plant in the UK, completing the first engine firing of its 450 megawatt flexible generation facility. The plant is designed to provide critical backup power to the national grid, supporting the stability of renewable energy sources like wind and solar. The site combines the gas plant with a 300 megawatt battery storage facility to manage both rapid fluctuations and sustained periods of low renewable output. While currently running on natural gas, the facility is built to transition to hydrogen as supply chains develop.
