State Grid Zhejiang Launches Green Energy TO Brand and Energy Efficiency Marketplace for AI Data Centers in Hangzhou
markets.financialcontent.comState Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company has launched the Green Energy TO brand in Hangzhou, aiming to help businesses cut energy use and carbon emissions. The initiative includes a digital Energy Efficiency Marketplace within the Energy & Carbon Manager app, which matches enterprises with solar and storage providers. One early user, the China Telecom Hangzhou Intelligent Computing Center, saw its monthly electricity consumption hit 5.44 million kWh in June 2026, a fourfold year-over-year increase. The platform helped it find a partner for a 1 MW solar array and 5 MWh battery system, expected to reduce annual electricity use by 8% to 12%. The Green Energy TO program evolved from low-carbon services developed for the 2022 Asian Games, which was the first carbon-neutral Games. Those services, including green electricity traceability and carbon footprint accounting, have been standardized and applied in factories, parks, and campuses. To date, the team has assessed over 9,000 key customers and supported nearly 54,000 users in switching to electric energy, substituting 3.189 billion kWh of electricity consumption. The mascot, Green Energy Rabbit, was inspired by children's drawings of green electricity and symbolizes clean energy.
