Researchers in South Korea have developed a natural feed additive called MGOsyn that reduces methane emissions from hanwoo beef cattle. The compound, made from garlic, oregano, and monolaurin, suppresses methane production in the rumen. Recent trials show a 14 percent reduction in emissions, surpassing the national threshold for low-methane feed certification. If commercialized, the additive could potentially cut annual greenhouse gas emissions by 520,000 metric tons.
