Solvay has signed a ten-year agreement with Sapio to produce and supply renewable hydrogen at its Rosignano site in Italy. This move is part of a broader strategy to transition toward specialty materials and reduce direct emissions from chemical processes. The partnership aims to lower the carbon footprint of materials used in the mobility, construction, and industrial sectors. By switching to lower-carbon feedstocks, Solvay is aligning its European operations with stricter EU climate policies and industrial decarbonization goals.
