SoftBank is planning a 75 billion euro investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure across France. A significant portion of this funding will go toward developing data centers in the Hauts-de-France region, with goals to increase installed capacity from 1.5 gigawatts to as much as 5.0 gigawatts. The project partners with Schneider Electric to design and supply equipment. SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son cited France's position as a net energy exporter as a primary reason for choosing the location, given the immense power requirements of AI compute clusters.
