This process is particularly effective in saline alkaline soils where carbon sequestration is typically inefficient. These organic molecules trigger shifts in microbial communities and enhance cross trophic interactions. The result is a higher conversion of straw into mineral associated organic matter, which helps lock carbon in the ground and improves overall soil health.
