SLB and SOCAR Green are collaborating to assess geothermal energy resources in the Kalbajar district of Azerbaijan. The project has moved past the initial exploration and feasibility stages and is now developing a full portfolio for field development, including subsurface studies and techno-economic analysis. This initiative highlights the transition of oil and gas expertise, such as drilling and geological surveying, into the renewable energy sector. Beyond geothermal power, the partnership emphasizes reducing the carbon footprint of energy production through carbon capture and storage (CCS) and methane emission reductions.
